Go Green

Go Green 2017 is taking place September 15th

Go Green 2017 will focus on preparing our city for the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games. Partnerships with The City of Swift Current, Swift Current Creek Watershed Stewards, and Friends of the Walkway allow Go Green to happen on an annual basis. We welcome businesses and residents in our community and surrounding area to get involved! Online registration will be available by September 1st.

A little history...

Go Green began in 2009, after consultations with the City of Swift Current revealed a need for a fall clean up in and around the city. As a corporate citizen, we are committed to our environment and proudly organize this event each year. Go Green draws over 100 community participants annually, including Stark & Marsh employees and clients. As a result, Go Green has contributed to the planting of over 2,200 trees and shrubs.

Some Go Green projects include:

  • Tree and shrub planting
  • Landscaping
  • Pathway clean up
  • Flower bed maintenance
  • Mulching

Funds rasied at the 2016 Go Green BBQ were donated to the Southwest Youth emergency Shelter "Dorie's House."

We are very proud of the work we have done and will continue to do. We are also very thankful for all the Go Green participants each and every year for making each event a success!

  4. The Swift Current United Way Day of Caring is taking place this week, June 5-9th and Stark & Marsh spent Wednesday afternoon with Southwest Homes and the Salvation Army.

The Swift Current United Way had seven community agencies in need of various projects including general yard cleanup, painting, and even a small bathroom renovation. These agencies submit projects based on need and without Day of Caring many of these organizations wouldn’t have the manpower or time to complete them.

We would like to send a special thanks to Robertson Rentals for delivering and picking up a rototiller from our Salvation Army project site! Without your kind generosity our volunteers may still be at the project site.

  5. Our wonderful management team is taking some much needed time out of the office to collaborate and brainstorm at their annual manager retreat. In the meantime some of them are hiding out in the woods. Apparently they’ve had enough meetings?

  6. We’d like to thank Town of Shaunavon and Shaunavon Communities in Bloom for allowing Stark & Marsh to adopt the Town of Shaunvon planter as a mini Go Green project. We’re hoping for sun this summer so we can spend lots of time maintaining it!

  7. Did you know the SPCA has over $300,000.00 in operating costs on an annual basis and they receive no federal or provincial funding? All their funds are raised through community support initiatives and donations. Stark & Marsh covered the cost of their BBQ so all donations from their BBQ could be given directly to the organization.

  8. Nadine Dyck with Stark & Marsh was one of the many local Swift Current professionals that attended Saskatchewan Fashion Week in Regina.
